EagleRider rental: Triumph Bonneville 2300 mile ride impressionPosted on 07. Aug, 2011 by admin in Harley-Davidson |
We rode the Triumph Bonneville, the newest member of the EagleRider rental fleet, from Chicago to San Francisco. The route covered a wide variety of roads: mountain passes, desert highways, interstates, winding single lane back country roads and construction zones. And the riding conditions were as varied as the roads, from 105 degree temps in the desert to 34 degrees in the Rockies, wind, rain, hail, and a mad dash from a tornado. 9 other riders were on Harley Davidson touring bikes, Road Kings, Street Glides and Electra Glides. The Bonneville was very different – hundreds of pounds lighter, with nearly 700cc smaller displacement than the HD\’s. It proved to be a worthy minimalist touring mount, and a lot of fun when the roads got twisty. Eaglerider now has Triumph Bonnevilles available in several locations.
